Which red dots fit an M&P 2.0 Optics Ready slide?

Optics Ready M&P 2.0 slides use Smith & Wesson's CORE system. The red dot doesn't bolt to the slide itself: it sits on a plate made for its footprint, and the plate bolts into the cut in the slide.

The Short Answer

  • Every Optics Ready M2.0 takes a dot on a CORE plate. The pistol comes with plates, and the RMR, RMSc and Venom-footprint dots we list each use one of them.
  • The DeltaPoint Pro needs S&W's DeltaPoint Pro CORE plate kit, sold separately for about $49.
  • The Aimpoint Acro isn't covered by S&W's plates. You need an aftermarket M&P plate for it.
  • A bare upgrade slide may not include the plates that come in the box with a complete pistol, so check before you order one.
  • The CORE cut is the same on the Full Size and Compact, so the same plate and dot fit either slide.
  • With a dot on the slide, suppressor-height sights let you aim through the window if the dot fails. Standard-height sights sit below it.
