Glock 19 threaded barrels: which thread, which slide, which sights
A threaded barrel opens up compensators, thread protectors and suppressors, but the muzzle device has to match the thread exactly, and the barrel still has to match the slide.
The short answer
- A muzzle device must match the barrel thread exactly: diameter, pitch and direction. A 1/2x28 device will not go on an M13.5x1 left-hand barrel, or the other way round.
- Gen3/4 barrels, threaded or not, don't fit a Gen5 slide. Gen5 Marksman barrels only fit Gen5 slides.
- The threads stick out past the slide. A thread protector keeps them from getting dinged when nothing else is on.
- If you plan to run a suppressor, standard-height sights get blocked. Use suppressor-height sights.
